In October of 2002, I attended a workshop in California with the artist Nessa Grainger.
The focus of the workshop was experimenting with integrating watermedia and collage.
In May of 2004, I spent some time learning how to make monotype prints using a
Plexiglas plate that is covered with a thin layer of gelatin (unflavored, but yes --
essentially Jell-O). It sounds like a rather odd idea, but it allows you to create
some very interesting textures. Technical details of the technique can be found
in the book "Making Monotypes Using a Gelatin Plate" by Nancy Marculewicz.
